Born in a small town called Mayarí, Santiago de Cuba, Sheyla showed her inclination for the art at an early age. She used to perform in school and later studied at Frank Pais Garcia and graduated as a Music Teacher for Kindergarten. While studying her career, she studied plastic art where she had outstanding grades.

She is still evolving, hungry to improve her skills and learning new techniques. Her pictures of her homeland express the beauty of her island, the simplicity of its people and its culture.
